Leaving Proxmox for Arch

I've been working on my home server as a project for a little while now and installed Proxmox to get it up and running easily, and decided I would install a different system when I had the time. Over the past week or two, I have been planning out how to setup Arch Linux in the best way for me to replace Proxmox. By using Proxmox I found two things I really like from it, the web ui and LXC containers. I've been learning and experimenting with multiple Arch packages through my VM and dual boot setup trying to decide what I like best. I have four SATA ssds in a RAID 10 array currently with boot, swap, and root (ext4) partitions. For this rebuild I decided on using btrfs for the root partition (and sizing it down). Then I plan to use sda4 to mount my /home directory and create a ZFS pool there. I want my containers all on the ZFS filesystem. I plan to use Incus (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Incus) for containerization and management through a web ui. I am new to Incus and the ZFS filesystem and was wondering if this sounds like a decent setup and if anyone had any suggestions on the setup or alternatives I haven't considered yet.

(My reason for switching is purely because I enjoy the challenge and want to learn more)

  • Run modded Minecraft Java server
  • Use bind for local DNS resolving
  • Use pihole or adguard for DNS filtering
  • Run Ntopng on host for live flow analysis
  • Be able to manage server with Incus Web UI
  • Create a VM as a DMZ to further isolate containers
