I built an open-source Phone Link alternative (ADB, notifications, calls, media, app streaming, and more)

I've been working on this project for the past few months.

The idea originally came from Samsung DeX. I always loved the idea of turning an Android phone into a complete desktop experience, but I don't own a Samsung device, DeX support for Windows was discontinued, and I wasn't particularly interested in using Phone Link.

So I decided to build my own solution.

What started as a simple experiment with ADB gradually turned into a much larger project. My goal was to combine the things I liked about Samsung DeX, KDE Connect, and Phone Link while keeping everything open source, cross-platform, and privacy-focused.

One of the biggest goals was to avoid requiring yet another companion application running in the background on the phone. Most of the functionality is handled directly through ADB, which keeps the setup process simple and lightweight.

At the moment, the project supports:

Notifications

Calls and a dialer

Media controls

App launching

App streaming

Clipboard synchronization

Real-time device statistics

Dynamic wallpaper-based theming

Linux and Windows support

I also spent a lot of time refining the interface because I wanted it to feel like a complete desktop application rather than a collection of unrelated tools stitched together.

There's still plenty left to build, but I thought I'd share the progress so far. I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and criticism.
