How are you guys watching BBC iPlayer abroad?

Hey guys, I've been trying to watch BBC iPlayer from outside the UK. I currently use a VPN, but occasionally the IP gets flagged and I hit that dreaded error screen. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't.

So I'm curious what everyone else is using as a reliable backup. Are you guys relying on alternative setups like SmartDNS, residential IPs, or private home routers? Would love to hear your setups. Many thanks!
