I've recently moved into a new place and the ethernet connection isnt working. There are lights on the ethernet port on the I/O shield but no actual data is being transmitted despite what the status is telling me.
I've tried a multitude of options like checking the cable (laptop connects seamlessly) and using a wide variety of console commands to no avail. I've tried doing a network reset as well as a full driver reinstall. From what i could gather from reading posts from others in a similar situation my PC is failing to establish a 'handshake' with my router but I have no idea what that means and would really appreciate some help as this will affect my work and I'm getting really desperate.
Other things I have tried include setting the dns to specific addresses and changing my power settings for the adaptor.
