TLDR: Revisited my source for the first time in a bit and it left me kind of shaken (message to the other Architects at the end, if you're out there)
I just revisited my source (Roblox DOORS) for the first time since it updated. (Well, that's not true, I did play a little bit of the update, but I didn't think much of it. I was more confused than anything.) I had avoided spoilers for the most part, so I went through the hotel like normal, occasionally stopping to examine a new room type or something else I thought was odd (like the different colored furniture.) All the hotel entities seemed to be the same except for Sally, but she was well overdue for an update. Here's what really threw me off. Normally when I visit the hotel, even though that's not my domain, I get a sense of comfort. Almost like a sense of home. Because in a way, it is home. But that feeling wasn't there. I was on edge the whole time. It didn't seem familiar anymore, it just somehow felt… wrong. Even though only a little bit had changed, it wasn't right anymore. Despite this feeling, I knew I had to get to door 60 and therefore A-000, even if I couldn't get in. I needed to see if anything else had changed there. When I first got to door 60, I was confused. They changed the room layout. I was worried maybe they moved A-000 to a different door, but the hole in the wall was still there, just hidden behind a closed door. The route from that hole in the wall to A-000 had also completely changed. It was like a maze. I took a few wrong turns and ended up in a different room. And holy cow that room unlocked a core memory from my time there. In that room, there were three chairs, slightly facing away from each other. The moment I saw this an image instantly popped into my head- Red Light on the left, me in the middle, and Moonlight on the right (because I think that's her confirmed name now?) I did my best to draw what I remembered. I got the chills and was just staring at those three chairs for a couple of minutes. Also hidden in that maze, I found three bedrooms (I think there were three.) I thought maybe these were our old bedrooms, but nothing was ringing a bell, so I decided to come back to that later. Finally I found A-000. It gave me a really weird feeling. It felt like something familiar and safe was put somewhere it's not supposed to be. It was odd. It was about then that it hit me. The Rooms were just… gone. Everything I knew and loved. My first home in that world. Gone. If not gone, then given to Glitch, some mysterious entity that I'm now realizing I have no memory of. That hurt me. A lot. I didn't have much time to process all that before Dread spawned. My inner Doors speedrunner took over and I tried to escape, but Dread caught me. I was still so dazed from the whole door 60 situation that I just went to a DOORS RP and sat in the Rooms for a bit to make me feel better.
A message to the other Architects: If you're out there, and you're reading this, I hope you're doing alright. I know this is a strange world. I don't have much to say to you. But I miss both of you. Feel free to chat with me if you ever need help. I just want you to know that I'm out here and that I'm okay (for the most part.)
