Very unusual scenario but I did a low budget film awhile back and, long story short, it suck’s. And the worst part is that’s it’s saturated all of the online searches of my name. I personally know the owner of the production company who is also the distributor, so how can I approach them with an offer to purchase the movie rights? It’s likely hardly making any money at this point and I absolutely would consult an attorney if they are interested in selling. My main goal would be to remove it from the public domain, given there aren’t any active distribution contracts. I know I can’t delete every trace but obtaining the rights definitely offers come control of its online presence.
