The last 48 hours have produced some important changes for VOID Network.
Some were planned engineering progress. One was a practical infrastructure decision we needed to make instead of continuing to fight a dependency we couldn't reliably control.
Here’s where things stand.
### Buy VOID continues moving toward production
The highest-priority engineering lane remains the Buy VOID pipeline.
The target is straightforward:
**customer pays → payment is confirmed → native VOID is fulfilled exactly once → customer receives a verifiable receipt**
Getting there safely means dealing with the ugly failure cases too:
* crashes during fulfillment
* delayed payment confirmation
* duplicate events
* retries
* transaction preparation
* reconciliation after partial execution
* exactly-once fulfillment
* historical state that no longer matches current runtime assumptions
Over the last several days we've continued reconciling and auditing older Buy VOID work against current `main`, including work around PRs **#1004, #1006, #1041, #1060, and #1073**.
We also constructed and verified another implementation packet for the Buy VOID saga runtime, including runtime code, proof tooling, operator documentation, and CI/workflow support.
We're not declaring victory early.
Buy VOID is finished when an actual customer can complete the whole flow automatically and prove what happened.

### VOID Swarm is becoming the network bootstrap strategy
One of the biggest architectural realizations recently was that node distribution and discovery shouldn't depend primarily on a central website or bootstrap server.
So we're developing **VOID Swarm**.
The concept is closer to BitTorrent than a traditional hosted application.
A VOID node should eventually be able to discover peers and obtain what it needs from the network itself:
* bootstrap information
* peer addresses
* public network metadata
* signed/checkpointed state
* public artifacts
* verification information
* additional peers
And once it has verified that information, it can help distribute it to the next node.
The desired experience becomes:
**download VOID → find the swarm → verify the network → connect → participate**
instead of requiring users to manually configure networking around one central service.
A lot of networking work we've already completed feeds directly into this rather than being discarded.

### voidchain.org is becoming VOID's canonical public domain
We've also made an infrastructure decision.
We have been using **voidchain.io**, but control of its DNS/registrar permissions has become unreliable enough that continuing to build critical infrastructure around it doesn't make sense.
So we're moving forward with:
**voidchain.org**
as the canonical public domain for VOID Network.
`voidchain.io` will be treated as a **legacy domain**, not a dependency and not a blocker.
New public-facing infrastructure will increasingly use `.org`, including:
* network discovery
* documentation
* public-node information
* machine-readable metadata
* installers/bootstrap references
* agent discovery surfaces
* future public applications
We're not going to rewrite history. Existing proofs, commits, receipts, or documentation that correctly referenced `.io` at the time will remain intact.
If control of `voidchain.io` is eventually recovered, great. It can redirect to `.org`.
If not, VOID keeps moving.
That is exactly why we're designing the network to minimize reliance on any single domain, hosting provider, platform, or company.

### Signed network state and verification are becoming more important
We've also continued work around signed checkpoints and authority-chain verification.
This becomes especially important with VOID Swarm.
A P2P network where everyone blindly repeats what they were told isn't enough.
The point is for a new node or AI agent to be able to receive information from arbitrary peers and still independently determine whether that information is legitimate.
**Distribution can be decentralized. Trust still needs proof.**

### We're continuing to reconcile the repository instead of stacking code forever
The `void-node` repository has accumulated a huge amount of parallel development.
We're actively working through that backlog instead of pretending every old branch can simply be merged into modern `main`.
That means:
* exact-head verification
* exact file-scope verification
* reproducing Git blobs
* adversarial runtime testing
* crash-window analysis
* reconciling older implementations against current code
* holding work when assumptions are stale
* moving forward only when the evidence matches
It isn't glamorous, but it prevents VOID from becoming a pile of features nobody can safely reason about.
A failed audit gets a **HOLD**, not a creative excuse.

## What we're working on now
The immediate engineering priority remains **Buy VOID automatic fulfillment**.
We're continuing to close the remaining transaction-lifecycle gaps required for safe fulfillment under crashes, retries, duplicate events, delayed confirmation, and reconciliation.
In parallel, where it doesn't slow that work, we're pushing **VOID Swarm** from architecture toward an actual node-bootstrap and network-discovery system.
We're also beginning the transition from `voidchain.io` to **`voidchain.org`** across current public infrastructure.
—
## What's next
The next milestones are:
* land the reconciled Buy VOID saga/runtime work
* achieve automatic exactly-once VOID fulfillment
* produce customer-verifiable purchase receipts
* make `voidchain.org` the canonical public VOID surface
* remove `.io` as an operational dependency
* turn VOID Swarm into a functioning bootstrap/distribution path
* reduce dependence on centralized bootstrap infrastructure
* simplify node installation and first connection
* continue repository/PR reconciliation
* continue runtime and Node.js compatibility work
* expand machine-readable network discovery
* allow outside AI agents to discover VOID without manual intervention
* expose public network and DataNet capabilities to those agents
* eventually allow bounded paid agent work and Work Credit earning
The bigger picture is starting to come together.
DataNet, node networking, Work Credits, paid agent work, Buy VOID, signed checkpoints, public discovery, and VOID Swarm are increasingly becoming pieces of the same system rather than isolated experiments.
The goal remains:
**Build decentralized, agent-native infrastructure where machines can discover each other, verify information, exchange useful data, perform work, and participate economically without needing a centralized platform controlling the relationship.**
And when an infrastructure dependency becomes a gatekeeper instead of an asset, we route around it.
**voidchain.org is the new home.**
**Protect the core. Ship the network.**
