Domain Name Addicts Anonymous.
“Hi, I'm Chris, and it's been 11 days since my last domain registration.”
“Hi, Chris.”
“I almost bought one yesterday, but I put it in the discovery queue instead.”
Applause.
Then somebody in the back whispers:
“Is the .net available?”
Meeting ruined.
I'm sure there's a few of you here that can relate to a late night domain buying spree.
So I checked to see if it was available in either .com or .org
The .com was minimum $50,000 and the .org was $2,500 buy It now.
So I thought to myself this must represent something really valuable so I went to Google and searched for the acronym.
In the AI overview, one is a primary DnaA protein required to start DNA replication in bacteria. The other is a Malaysian criminal procedure, DNAA stands for Discharge Not Amounting to an Acquittal.
I'm not sure there's somebody in either one of those fields that would pay that much for that domain name. I think we all have some we overvalue.
So since I'm holding a Domain Name Addicts Anonymous meeting, who would like to speak next?
