Since my last post about going v1, I've been improving Resterm and adding new features, so I decided to post an update on what's been happening and what has changed since v1.
For those who don't know or haven't heard about Resterm – it's a TUI/CLI API client that works differently from most API clients. Instead of having "input boxes" or being like typical Bruno/Postman clients, Resterm is more like API-as-code, meaning you define everything inside .http/.rest files. There's no input box or layout – what you write in the .http file becomes the truth. You can run conditions (if, while, for-each, etc.), workflows, asserts, auto-connect ssh, kubernetes port-forwarding and more, plus Resterm has tracing, a profiler and a timeline. There are too many things to list here, so I recommend checking it out if you're interested.
Over the last couple of weeks I've primarily been working on three things: improving Intellisense, mocks and recording. This means it's now much easier to write requests in Resterm, with autofill, Intellisense and suggestions. You can now press Shift+k on resterm definition, and it will bring up help modal with explanation. You can also now define mocks in the same file as your request.
The last feature, and the one I'm a bit excited about, is the recorder. The idea is that you can record traffic to an API you already have – or, if you're working on a frontend or another app that doesn't have an API yet, you can just point your app at the Resterm recorder and it will try to parse every request, create an .http file with mocks/requests, and save it for you. This is still sort of a beta, so it only supports HTTP(S) for now, but gRPC and GraphQL are planned.

Hope you like it! Give it a star if you do.
