REPOST #1 – "The alleged OOP has been confirmed to be legit"

Recently, I published a post on the PENTTBOMB forums stating that the original anon had likely been identified and contacted. I explained why I could not publicly include the screenshots and links supporting this connection, but understandably, the lack of directly visible evidence led to some doubts, including from users such as u/MetatronArcangel. I still stand by my decision not to publicly share identifying information. That said, I have put together an updated evidence archive in the form of a PDF file with additional information.

The file is heavily redacted where necessary. However, the administrators of this community have seen the complete version and can vouch that the connections shown within it are apparent and substantial. There are two separate links that need to be established here. First, the r/AskReddit user who made the relevant comments in 2018 and 2019 must be connected to the Redditor who entered my direct messages a few months ago claiming to be the original anonymous user. Second, it must be established that this same r/AskReddit user was most likely the anonymous user who made the original 4chan posts in 2015. The first connection is not an issue. The PDF contains definitive evidence linking the r/AskReddit user to the person who contacted me in DMs. The second connection is more complicated. Because the original posts were made anonymously on 4chan, there is no possible way to definitively prove that an external Reddit account belongs to the same person. Any evidence claiming to do so could theoretically be fabricated. I want to be completely clear about that.

However, the available evidence goes far beyond a few broad similarities. The 2015 anonymous user and the 2018–2019 r/AskReddit commenter share the same highly specific memory, the same description of the channel and footage, the same vague Superman-related title pattern, the same search history, and several unusually specific details that would be extremely difficult to write off as coincidence. While no one can technically prove the identity of an anonymous 4chan user, the similarities here are about as overwhelming as we could realistically ask for.

I apologize for the seeming lack of transparency and overconfidence in the initial connections.

REPOST #2 – "Man Turns To Jam"

Recently, I found effectively irrefutable evidence that a user who contacted me a few months ago is almost certainly the original 4chan user who started this entire search. I posted about this on the PENTTBOMB forums, compiled a PDF containing all of the relevant information, announced the discovery on the Discord server, and had u/krettheus make a post on this subreddit on my behalf. I recommend reading up on everything for the sake of fully understanding the recent findings.

This user went on to explain that they may have been misremembering the infamous jumper footage aired on the Spanish network Univision (commonly misattributed to Telemundo), although they still acknowledged that the lost video could indeed be real. Interestingly, they also brought up a post about a certain "splat" video, which they stated was almost certainly the "Man Turns Into Jam" video mentioned in the 2016 4chan post.

The statement from the OOP

I was confused at first, because there didn't seem to be any post like that on the subreddit. In a later message, I asked if the "LOL SUPERMAN" video was the edited piece of troll media I had rediscovered (which we now know was simply a recreation made by u/KekStrong), as well as what exactly they meant by the "splat" post.

They were quite adamant that the recreation matched their recollection of "LOL SUPERMAN," suggesting that the original video may have simply been a piece of edited troll media from the early 2000s rather than unique 9/11 footage. More interestingly, they stated that the "splat" post could no longer be found, but remembered it being detailed and possibly written by me.

The second statement from the OOP

That last detail jogged my memory. A few months ago, I made a post compiling all of the 9/11 jumper media posted to Bestgore. The uploads were later taken down from the Internet Archive and I had since lost the videos, so I deleted the post. The first Bestgore page contained three videos. The first was a LiveLeak compilation of people trapped by the windows of the North Tower, the second was around 14 minutes of Guy Rosbrook's footage, and the third contained the plaza segments of Jack Taliercio's footage.

Here is a section of the description associated with the Bestgore page, pasted verbatim:

WEEEEEEEE… Splat!

This second video was filmed from the Millennium Hotel which is just across the street from the WTC. A person by the name of Tami Michaels and her husband stayed in a room on the 35th floor and filmed the tragedy as it was unfolding. During the course of the video, Tami Michaels appears to speak to someone on the telephone and sounds like she has a stick up her ass so mute the audio if you want to avoid feeling like you want to stab yourself in the ears with knitting needles. At around the 6:40 minute mark the video shows people falling to the ground. Brief close up of the ground shows jumpers splattered there:

This likely means that the OOP saw this description of Rosbrook's footage and became nearly certain that it was "Man Turns Into Jam." Their recollection of a detailed "splat" post, possibly written by me and later deleted, lines up with this archive almost identically.

The connection between MTTJ and Rosbrook's footage was never particularly far-fetched. Rosbrook's angle is quite similar to the supposed positioning of the MTTJ cameraman, with the only major difference being the elevation. Rosbrook was also in audible distress following the zoom into the plaza, another detail commonly mentioned in MTTJ sightings. On that note, the title "Man Turns Into Jam" doesn't necessarily mean the video showed a direct impact. It could have referred to the jumper falling around the 6:40 mark, followed by the shot of the aftermath in the plaza.

This has pretty detrimental implications for the MTTJ search. If the OOP was indeed referring to my deleted Bestgore archive, then some of the most important details they associated with MTTJ can be traced directly to the known Rosbrook tape.

That still leaves the question of what LSM itself actually contained. The video the OOP believed resembled "LOL SUPERMAN" turned out not to be an authentic early-2000s upload, so it's possible they simply saw how closely the recreation matched their description and assumed it had to be the same video. LSM could still have contained unique 9/11 footage, assuming the OOP was mistaken about certain details in their recollection, particularly the involvement of cars.
