Kubuntu/Ubuntu DNS won’t resolve after deleting Proton VPN and Windscribe VPN

I'm using Kubuntu, and typing ping -c 3 cloudflare.com returns ping: cloudflare.com: Temporary failure in name resolution. ping -c 3 1.1.1.1 works fine. nslookup > -type=ns returns ;; communications error to 127.0.0.53#53: timed out 3 times and ;; no servers could be reached. I have no clue what to do next, as wifi is connected, but my speeds are little to none. This started after I deleted Proton VPN and Windscribe VPN. Neither left alternative connections behind.
