Core 2 Duo Homelab

My homelab at 13 y.o.

This server was built for independence from cloud providers. It was built from parts that everyone else considered obsolete or useless. For now, it fully meets my needs.

Future plans:
– Buy an Orange Pi and build a Home Assistant server for a smart room (yeah, not a house – my parents hate my hobby).

– Learn the inner workings of the Linux kernel and full Docker syntax.

Notes:
– Right now, I can't use a 3-2-1 backup strategy because I have nowhere to store offsite data. S3 is too expensive. I only have cold backups, which don't protect against physical damage to the apartment – which is a very real possibility where I live.

Network: TP Link Archer C20 v1 running padavan-ng firmware (not OpenWrt, because I hate the open-source mt76 driver for old MTK chips)

HDD: 2TB WD Red Plus

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T8100

RAM: 4GB DDR2

OS: Debian 13
