A connected status only confirms that the app completed part of its setup. If websites do not load, first determine whether the failure is name resolution or all traffic.
Controlled test
- Confirm the computer's date, time, and time zone are correct.
- Disconnect and verify that ordinary browsing works without the VPN.
- Reconnect, then compare whether IP addresses respond while domain names fail.
- Try one different server and, if the app offers it, one different protocol setting.
- Check whether another VPN, firewall, DNS filter, or security suite is changing the same network settings.
- Restart after recent Windows, driver, or security-software updates.
Avoid deleting network adapters or running broad network-reset commands before saving the exact error and current configuration. Those steps can erase useful evidence and create a second problem.
For support, include Windows version, app version, server, protocol, network type, and whether the failure affects all traffic or only domain names.
