App Name: f-tree
One-Line Description: A free, offline family tree app that names how any two people are related – in English or other languages – and has a place for the relatives nobody can name.
Key Features:
- A person needs no name. A blank person is a valid "unknown person" and can be named years later without disturbing a single relationship.
- Relation finder: pick any two people, get "first cousin once removed" plus every person the line runs through. Walks marriages as well as blood.
- Hindi kinship terms. English has one word for "uncle"; Hindi has five, and picking the right one needs facts English throws away.
- A graph, not a tree – remarriage, half-siblings, adoption and step-relations aren't special cases.
- Fully offline. No account, no server, no analytics. Sharing is a file; importing merges into your tree instead of replacing it.
Who It's For: Anyone writing down a family where the record has holes, or anyone who loves to record keeping their ancestry.
Cost:
– Pricing model: Free
– Prices & billing period: Free, permanently. No ads, no IAP, no subscription, no premium tier.
– Current promotions: N/A
Links:
– Google Play: not published
– GitHub / Source code: https://github.com/thisisankit27/f-tree
– Privacy policy: not required; the app collects nothing and has no server.
Feedback Goals:
– Does your family have a shape that breaks the chart layout? That's the thing I most want to hear about.
– Is the unknown-person concept obvious on first open, or does it need explaining?
Additional Notes: Android 8.0+, ~2 MB, MIT licensed. Not on the Play Store; the APK is on the GitHub releases page and every release publishes its SHA-256. Optional in-place updater is off until you switch it on.
