A working map of the AEO and GEO tool market as of September 2026. We build one of these, named at the end, so weight accordingly.
The measurement tools
These all do roughly the same job: run your buyer questions against the answer engines on a schedule, record whether you were named, record which domains were cited instead.
Profound. The deepest. Analyses how answers shift across prompt phrasings and models. Enterprise pricing. Also runs the best content operation in the category by a distance, ranking for 576 keywords against a category average nearer 25.
Peec AI. Fastest to a usable number. Clean interface, real daily cadence, and a prompt volume estimate so you are not guessing which questions matter.
Otterly AI. The simplest and cheapest of the serious options. Ranks for 145 keywords in Google US, which is more than Peec despite a smaller link profile, and is a reasonable signal that the team understands the problem.
Scrunch AI. Built for agencies. Multi-tenant rollups across client properties, which nothing else does as cleanly. Thin on its own search visibility, ranking for five keywords, four of them its own brand name.
The smaller entrants worth knowing
aiclicks.io, geoptie.com, rankscale.ai, airankchecker.net, honeyb.ai, aeotool.com. Several of these hold page one positions for the category's main terms on fewer than 400 referring domains, and one of them registered its domain in May 2026. Do not dismiss them because they are unfamiliar. Check what they rank for.
What none of them do
Get you cited.
Every tool above produces the same core artefact: a ranked list of the domains the answer engines trust in your category, cited instead of you. Getting onto those domains is podcast bookings, guest articles, awards entries, journalist pitches, directory listings and review platform presence. It is ordinary public relations work aimed at a new target, and it is where the months actually go.
That gap is why the category feels frustrating to a lot of buyers. The measurement half is close to commoditised and priced at $28 to $60 a click. The execution half has almost no tooling.
How to choose
Write down what you will do differently on the day the dashboard arrives. If the answer is specific, buy the tool that reports best. If the answer is unclear, the dashboard is not your constraint and buying a better one will not help.
We build Mentionry, which is the execution half: it reads what ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini say about your category daily, ranks every cited domain, then drafts the pitch for the specific outlet. Happy to answer questions about any tool on this list, including where they beat us.
