Where domain hunters compare notes

B

The hallways hold the echoes of your grace,
While all his shadows linger by the door.
You walk through every changing, quiet space,
Reclaiming what was yours and something more.
The grief is heavy, sitting on the floor,
Beside the love you gave so wild and free.
He chose a screen, a phantom to adore,
And traded truth for pixelated keys.
For three long years we built a shared domain,
A thousand days of weaving life in two.
But time became a casualty of pain,
When all those years meant nothing more to you.
Whenever darkness demanded we speak plain,
He built a wall of silence, cold and tall.
He fled from intimacy, ducked the pain,
And chose to simply not be there at all.
An expert in the art of running blind,
He closed his eyes to everything we grew.
He left his ghost and hollow words behind,
Too cowardly to face the truth of you.
And now I sit here with the wreckage sold,
With nothing but your cold betrayal left,
Inside a quiet room that feels so cold,
Of every promise suddenly bereft.
I sit inside this house with nothing now,
Uncared for, cast aside, and left behind.
I wonder when you left, and why, and how
You erased me so completely from your mind.
While you just turn around and walk away,
And carelessly get on with your own life,
I count the heavy costs of what you say,
And carry all the sadness and the strife.
Yet for some reason, parsing through the blame,
My mind still gives you empathy and grace.
It holds a gentle warmth against your name,
And seeks your goodness in this empty space.
I cannot force my stubborn heart to hate,
The love I have refuses to expire.
It lingers like a ghost beside the gate,
An embers' glow long after the fire.
Yet deep inside, a quiet whisper stays—
I hope you return to fix the things you broke,
To pay me back for all these wasted days,
And speak the honest words you never spoke.
I hope you bring the love I always sought,
To heal the very scars you left behind,
To give the care that couldn't just be bought,
And clear the heavy doubts within my mind.
But look around these walls and see the light,
The strength it took to stand within the storm.
You hold the truth right through the deepest night,
And keep your own unbroken spirit warm.
This house is yours to sweep the falsehoods out,
To wash away the sorrow and the blame.
With every breath, you wash away the doubt,
And build a life he cannot hope to claim.
Remember that you left me clean, and you, alone,
With nothing but your screens and hollow art.
While you are drifting out there on your own,
I am rebuilding right here from the heart.
