As a lot of these were smaller patch releases, i decided to not spam the sub with every single one. You can always see every release's notes on Github.
Scryer 0.19.13 — anime matching, indexer reliability, and everything since 0.19.8
This update covers the changes from 0.19.9 through 0.19.13. There’s quite a bit here, especially around anime, indexers, and making downloads and imports more reliable.
Thanks again to everyone reporting issues and sharing feedback! Those reports help catch the edge cases that are difficult to reproduce with a single library or setup.
Indexer accounting and reliability
Indexer request counts are now more accurate.
Daily-quota errors hidden inside successful Newznab responses now trigger increasing backoff instead of repeated attempts roughly every minute. HTTP 429 responses continue to respect Retry-After.
Connection tests also show useful errors directly in settings, including invalid API keys, unreachable hosts, TLS/DNS failures, and provider-specific messages.
More reliable grabs
Scryer now retains resolved NZB payloads until the download client accepts them, avoiding races with expiring URLs and temporary files.
Anime and release matching
Community cour numbering now maps to TVDB throughout search, scoring, imports, and scans.
0.19.13 extends this through interactive searches, alternate romanizations, bounded episode lists, and complete cour packs. Translated releases are checked against their official episode coordinates.
The parser is also much smarter on anime packs now.
Search routing and troubleshooting
Category pickers reflect indexer capabilities, including custom categories and immediate Prowlarr population. Automatic searches explain quality rejections or routing/indexer problems.
0.19.13 fixes per-indexer RSS categories, library inheritance/exclusions, and routed Prowlarr generic searches.
Imports and the core loop
Duplicate grabs are prevented during queueing, processing, or temporary client visibility gaps. Ignoring/removing grabs reopens acquisition; ended jobs stop generating repeated observations.
Manual Import handles more multi-season formats and reports every hold reason. In 0.19.13 it also uses the selected title, aliases, catalog episodes, and grabbed scope when parsing members, with a wider dialog and wrapping filenames.
Movie scans choose better-quality primary files and retry conflicting years. Search & Match exposes the year, failures, and existing titles. Specials resolve correctly without invented episode numbers.
0.19.13 also preserves movie-title attachment if final import persistence fails.
Monitoring and library management
Adding/requesting media gains advanced monitoring selections and a clearer season picker. Backups preserve those choices.
Episode files support checkbox deletion, with larger operations handled in background jobs. Request cards gain artwork, preserve poster proportions, and keep actions available during refreshes, with fewer redundant refreshes.
Administrators retain access and controls for newly added libraries.
UI, integrations, and performance
Login setup takes one flow. Refreshes preserve playback links and folder paths; unavailable management actions stay hidden. Repeated login clicks and quality-profile confirmations work.
Seeding rows collapse after five entries. Logs honor TZ; captured script output grows to 32 KiB per stream, compressed. Database and acquisition paths avoid unnecessary work.
Jellyfin OAuth, downloader cleanup, Weaver deletion errors, deprecated plugin statuses, configured addresses, link-local origins, and container host-bridge authorization receive fixes. Browser and installed-app icons are updated.
0.19.13 additionally fixes stuck plugin-install indicators, stale views after event-stream reconnects, concurrent image-cache budget enforcement, PostgreSQL cache reporting, and valid images with trailing bytes. Release-parser regression coverage and Prowlarr concurrency tests also improve.
