Unable to connect to internet – DNS problem

Hi everyone, my laptop is unable to connect to the internet. Chrome shows the following error mesasage:

dns_probe_finished_no_internet

This shows when trying to connect to either the BT hub directly or to one of two tp links for ethernet. Internet is fine when connecting the laptop to the hub directly via ethernet. My desktop PC can connect to the hub with wifi without any issues but shows the same error message if connecting via ethernet. My TV can connect via ethernet or wifi. Both laptop & desktop PC are using windows 11. This issue is consistent across browsers and when trying different eithernet cables, ports or swapping the TP link devices. I have another laptop supplied by my company which can connect via wifi without any issues.

Both desktop PC and my personal laptop run Norton 360 leading me to suspect the firewall was the common factor however this persists after the Norton firewall has been disabled, both the Norton & Windows Defender firewalls have been disabled and after uninstalling Norton on both devices.

I have identified an issue when using ipconfig commands that all adapters' media is disconnected although I cannot find a way to fix this.

See below the list of fixes I have tried without any success:

  • Reboot PC
  • Restart the hub
  • Power flush
  • Restore hub to factory settings
  • Use a restore point to revert to a time before the issue presented
  • Reinstalled network adapter drivers
  • Disabled & enabled combinations of adapters
  • Uninstalled adapters/drivers to be reinstalled when rebooting
  • Windows update
  • Ran several windows diagnostic tools & trouble shooters (no help)
  • Used a usb-ethernet adapter
  • Cleared browser cache & cookies
  • Changed DNS server to google (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) and Cloudflare (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1)
  • Change between ipv4 & ipv6
  • Start in safemode with networking
  • cmd run as admin:
  • reset tcpip stack
  • netsh int ipv4 reset all
  • reset winsock
  • ipconfig – flush dns, release, renew

The only other thing I can think of which I haven't attempted yet is to factory reset Windows which I view as a last resort.

Please advise if there is anything I have missed or any potential fix I haven't tried. I suspect that the solution may resolve in firewall settings however this appears to persist even with all firewalls disabled.

Please also let me know if any screenshots would be of use.

Many thanks in advance.
