Solo dev. My site is on a subdomain. It was indexed and ranking (avg position 4 for my brand name). On July 26 it went to zero and has stayed there for 45 days.
What Search Console says:
– Indexed: 0 of 24 known pages
– 17 pages are "Crawled, currently not indexed"
– Manual actions: none
– Removals: none
– External links: 0
– Homepage URL inspection: "Referring page: None detected"
Technical checks, all clean:
– robots.txt allows it, sitemap returns 200
– <meta name="robots" content="index, follow">
– Self referencing canonical
– Googlebot gets a 200, "Crawl allowed: Yes", "Indexing allowed: Yes"
What I did that might have caused it:
-
Moved from xyz.site.com to abc.site.com on July 6 with Change of Address.
-
Published some AI assisted blog posts at 1 to 2 per day through July.
What I did to fix it:
– Removed extra blogs and minimized them to only 6 real articles on Aug 20. Removed URLs return 410.
– Requested indexing on the homepage.
I also have links from my Play Store listing, App Store listing, and Instagram bio, but those are all nofollow, so Search Console shows nothing.
Questions:
-
Does this look like a scaled content demotion, or just a site with no authority that Google gave up on?
-
Has anyone recovered from a full site "crawled, currently not indexed" like this? How long did it take?
-
Is a subdomain the problem here? Would moving to a proper brand domain help, or would it just restart the clock?
People search my brand name and find nothing, and that part is killing me.
