Hi r/macOS — I’m the developer of DirDeck.
Finder works well for quick file jobs. It gets harder when one task spans several folders: each folder becomes another window, source and destination drift apart, and checking a file often means opening another app.
DirDeck keeps that work in one window:
• browser-style tabs and named Workspaces
• up to four independent panes across 12 layouts
• Super Preview for folders, archives, documents, spreadsheets, images, media, and 100+ recognized formats
• batch rename previews, Finder Tag search, File Transit, image tools, and PDF tools
Everything is native and local. There’s no DirDeck account, analytics, advertising, or cloud/AI service.
Version 1.2 is on the Mac App Store and requires macOS 15.0. All features are available during a 7-day trial; it doesn’t auto-renew. After that, US pricing is $4/year or $9.99 lifetime.

I’d appreciate blunt feedback, especially from anyone whose file work regularly spans several folders. What still feels quicker in Finder?
