Hello Folks,
Because of the limited local DNS functionality of the Fusion GW at this point (I have posted about this, and also created a feature request on the Omada site – a big issue being there is no reverse DNS at all, meaning you can't look up local IP addresses) I am moving all my DNS and DHCP servicing to an external solution (Technitium).
However, there is this VLAN setting, in the default VLAN (1), that is a bit confusing, as it indicates you need to keep the Fusion as the DHCP Server Device.
I don't want to use a L3 switch as a dhcp server, and I do't want to use the Fusion either… if the DHCP Server Device is kept as the Fusion GW, and then the DHCP Server is turned off (further down the settings page)… will this then allow any other DHCPD responding to requests to work?
Perhaps that is how it is meant to be seen, however I am unsure because of the wording of the option for "DHCP Derver Device".
Thanks for the feedback.
