I purchased a Flint 3 a month or so ago (Amazon, UK, brand new) to replace an ISP (EE Hub 7) router after having persistent issues of WPA3 connected devices dropping off the WiFi and EE/BT not being of any help.
Flint 3 setup was easy, I updated firmware straight away and then configured it using PPoE, enabled MLO 6ghz + 5ghz, separate 6 & 5Ghz setup for older devices and IoT 2.4ghz setup as SSID of old ISP router for legacy/smart device to auto connect, hardware acceleration enabled (found more consistent speeds from ISP with this on?), adguard on, reserved some IPs for my home lab and then left all other settings default – that's it a pretty simple setup. No add-ons etc.
What Ive noticed is after a number of hours of browsing internet on phone alongside kids streaming on their devices (that's the typical daily usage here) things get incredibly slow, websites don't even load/render or it takes ages to view smart device camera feeds etc – wired must be fine, as no issues streaming home server to TVs or connecting to work remotely (all wired).
Only workaround at the moment is to reboot the Flint 3, Wi-Fi based browsing is rapid again there after.
I've played with Adguard thinking it was this, and did see some improvements changing from default to HaGezis normal & allow list. At least initially when changed, but then it still slows down. Maybe that initial improvement was just from DNS caches clearing or something?
I read about some other settings with Adguard and played around a bit, but in the end turned adguard off completely to rule it out. (Still off)
I then noticed that sometimes, during slowness observed, my phone would disconnect from the MLO WiFi. So I disabled MLO, but slowness persistent on 5ghz separate SSID, doh.
Outside of firmware reset and not updating to 4.9.0 in case it's an issue with this firmware, any one got any other setting suggestions to try?
