Senior Embedded C/C++ Engineer | 11+ Years | Energy & Telecom | RTOS, Embedded Linux, IoT/Cellular | Open to Opportunities

Hi everyone,

I'm a Senior Embedded Software Engineer based in Tunisia with 11+ years of software engineering experience, including around 8 years working directly on embedded and connected products across the Energy and Telecommunications industries.

I'm currently exploring international opportunities, particularly in Embedded Software, Firmware, Embedded Linux, IoT and connected devices. I'm open to remote positions as well as relocation.

My embedded experience covers two main industries:

Energy / Smart Metering

I currently work as a Technical Referent on embedded software for smart electricity meters deployed at large scale.

My work includes:

• C/C++ firmware on STM32 / FreeRTOS
• NB-IoT, LTE-M and GPRS connectivity
• TCP/IP and cellular modem integration
• DLMS/COSEM and AMI / Meter-to-HES communication
• Event-driven state machines for registration, connection, retry, timeout and automatic recovery
• FOTA/DFOTA and connected-device reliability
• Debugging complex field issues using firmware logs, modem traces, Wireshark and network/backend traces
• Technical leadership, code reviews and supporting other engineers

A significant part of my work is making connected devices recover automatically from weak coverage, network outages, modem failures and other real-world communication problems.

Telecommunications / Embedded Linux Gateways

Previously, I spent several years developing C/C++ software for Linux/OpenWrt residential gateways used by telecom operators.

My experience includes:

• C/C++ on Embedded Linux / OpenWrt
• TCP/IP, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS and PPP/PPPoE
• Routing, NAT and firewall/iptables
• Linux middleware and system integration
• Debugging crashes, kernel panics, OOM, memory leaks and CPU/performance problems
• GDB, strace, system logs and Wireshark
• Integration, endurance and stability testing

I also have earlier experience with Linux, networking and VoIP/SIP systems, including Asterisk, FreeSWITCH and Kamailio.

I'm particularly interested in positions involving C/C++, RTOS, Embedded Linux, ARM/STM32, IoT gateways, cellular IoT (LTE-M/NB-IoT), connectivity or high-reliability connected products.

I'm based in Tunisia, speak Arabic, French and English, and I'm open to relocation or remote opportunities.
