Having an issue with a domain pointed to two different host servers

Hi

I have a domain example.com that is connected to a different server and the sub domain www.example.com is also pointing to another server. I would like to ask if this set up is correct more especially if the site is meant to serve the same content to users.

is this DNS inconsistency?
