So im looking to setup my own Pihole, but I have come to find out that Xfinity hardware is a roadblock. I understand that they dont allow you to change DNS settings. I even heard some claims that getting your own router is not enough, as the xfinity gateway is still restrictive in bridge mode. Whats the best course of action, along with whats most cost effective. I dont mind getting some of my own networking hardware, but im trying to save as much money as possible while still utilizing the full potential of my 1GB service.
