Current Clinical Status & Treatment:
The patient has been hospitalized since Aug 23. Initial treatment included oxygenation support, IV fluids (RL/DNS), gastroprotectants (Pantoprazole), antiemetics (Metoclopramide), and multivitamins/antibiotics (Eldervit, Betamyal, Desophyllin).
On August 25 and 26, the temperature fluctuated between 99.9°F and 101.5°F. Remdesivir antiviral injections were started and administered on consecutive evenings. The latest daily logs note that breathing, appetite, and stool parameters are showing gradual clinical improvement.
Questions for Veterinarians:
-
Given her weight of 1.4 kg and a positive FIP diagnosis, is the current clinical response to the Remdesivir injections typical for this stage of treatment?
-
Are there specific hematological milestones (like tracking LFT, KFT, or CBC trends) that we should closely monitor this week to ensure she is out of the danger zone?
-
Since financial constraints are making long-term clinical hospitalization difficult, what criteria should she meet before it is clinically safe to transition her to an at-home oral medication protocol?
