So a month or 2 ago my friend and me started having issues connecting remotely to his network and then he said it was likely due to a picture frame he purchased and mentioned that other people complained about about doing weird stuff. He told me that he was no longer using it and was able to fix his issue.
But then I opened the Unifi app and seen these warnings and he told me he got the frame working again.
I blocked the device in the app but am still seeing these warnings but when I first blocked it started to get more severe warnings but appeared to be blocked.
I'm more worried about such things than he is as I personally have a iot network with no internet access and refuse to connect my TVs to the internet but also have a site to site network bridging his and mine his being 192.168.50.xx and mine being 192.168.1.xx.
My concern is 1 I think this device has ran exploits that cause his gateway to be exploited a few months ago and maybe its not exploited anymore and is this a concern that I should be worried about it accessing my network.
He's not as concern about security as I versus he doesn't care about windows spying and I will goto the point of ripping telemetry out of Windows and now to running Linux 100% of the time.
Now my fix is I'm thinking of setting an iot network on his network without internet for this device but he told me he uses an app to upload pics to it and of course I was like after all of that why on earth would you install an app after what that thing did.
But he likely thinks I'm just crazy and will just ignore my warnings and should I just sever my site to site because of this and leave his network alone?
Also on another not I noticed when I was using windows 11 my screen would normally turn black meaning someone was likely connecting remotely likely using the vnc protocol because remote desktop was disable but would I sometimes use a vnc server for stuff.
