What else to break into help desk?

What can I add or fix in resume that would make it better?
Would a Comptia A+ cert be good to have on my resume? I was thinking of skipping the cert and doing the Network+ cert so I don’t pay for the A+. Although I’m not sure when I’ll be taking the exam, since I would still have to study for it.
Also, should I switch my project for something like a Homelab?
An additional question is what kind of IT job could I get with my resume besides help desk?
