Should I turn off Brave’s built-in ad blocker since I’m already using AdGuard app for Android?

Hey everyone,

So on my Android phone, I'm using the AdGuard for Android app (not just the DNS-based AdGuard you set up under Private DNS) with HTTPS filtering turned on for Brave.

I've read that running two ad blockers at the same time isn't really recommended — apparently it can be redundant, eat up more resources, and basically just makes both apps do double the work for nothing.

So my question is: should I just disable Brave's built-in ad blocker entirely by setting Shields to "Allow all ads & trackers"?

The catch is, I still want to keep Brave's fingerprint blocking feature active — if it wasn't for that, I probably would've switched to Chrome. So I can't fully turn Shields off either.

The setup I'm thinking of:

• AdGuard app → handles all ad and tracker blocking
• Brave Shields → only used for fingerprint protection (ads/trackers set to allow, since AdGuard's already covering that)

Does this setup make sense, or is there a smarter way to configure it so the two don't overlap or waste resources? Would appreciate any input from people who've dealt with a similar setup.
