Scripted my new site setup with wp-cli, 25 minutes of clicking down to 4

Same twenty five minutes every time a new site starts. Install, delete Hello Dolly, set permalinks, timezone, discourage search engines off, install the same eight plugins, create the staging user. Wrote it as a bash file of wp-cli calls and it runs in under four now.

Rough order it goes in:

1: wp core download, then wp config create with the db creds passed in as arguments, no wp-config editing by hand

2: wp core install with the site title and an admin user that is not called admin

3: wp option update to fix permalinks, timezone_string, blog_public and the date format in one go

4: wp plugin install with a list of slugs and –activate, then wp plugin delete hello akismet

5: wp theme delete for the twenty twenty themes I am not using, and wp post delete 1 2 –force for hello world and the sample page

The only part I still do by hand is the certificate and the DNS, because every host does that differently. The rest has not needed touching in about a year.
