I know goog trains their AI on everything you do and records entire conversations, but lately it's got me searching for alternatives. Not because I have some agenda I need to hide but because they are now focused on money squeezing and selling your profiles to marketing companies.
So, you may or may not remember, but back when goog first started, they where unknown. No one used them and they where giving away free emails to people. Every single person that signed up got a counter and they could give away 100 free emails. I will bet you don't remember that!
It wasn't long until they collaborated with an XMP chat protocol, and shortly after they offered google chat, you could download an .exe file and it would use jabber to connect to their servers.
So what is the point? You impatient person you. The point is you could just chat with people and it was instant. Remember when they called it "Instant Messaging" ? LOL!!!
You know to know why? Because FIDO … Back in my younger days people had to write their messages and wait 1 – 2 days before they got it. It was like email but not email. Same idea, different implementation. You logged into a BBS (Bulletin Board System) , using your Commodore 64, or your TRS 80 (Trash 80 LOL!), or what I used back in the day, and Apple II E, or a x86 clone.
Not going to go down the history lesson here, but even musicians got in on the BBS action back then. One of my audio CDs (compact disc) had a hidden music track which was just actually a 300bps (N,8,1) modem signal. All you had to do was figure out how to play the sound into the modem coupler and you could read the hidden message on it. It was text file explaining emotions and feelings during the album creation and some other stuff. Artist? Uh.. Band! I remember the band name : Information Society … I don't remember the album name though. Oh yeah, here it is…
That was so cool stuff!!! I was so excited to figure it out, because, back then, getting the audio from one device into another was an exercise in absolute futility. Especially if it was digital audio. It was so bad back then that Sony decided to rootkit the entire world by developing their rootkit to rule all digital audio, since they self declared themselves the owner of all sound and your ears.
It was pretty arrogant, and really obnoxious, like the kind of obnoxious that makes you punch a Corpo in the face at public speaking event.
Anyway, back to what is happening now. 2026 … The goog chat now runs everything you type and everything you send through a tons of analytical AI devices, and these devices profile you, but that was first step. We are on step 2 now… Now they are censoring your posts. Private messages are now being censored because of technology firms embedding their analytical machines into the techno feudalism world we live in.
So I send a picture and it never gets processed. Is it just this account? I try another account… same deal… I get others involved, I ask them to send the picture to their contact, maybe it's just me? Maybe I was targeted… Nope, picture censored and blocked. Is it offensive? No… It just has a corporate logo in it.
Well holy tomato unicycle Batman! Let's try audio.. I'll put what is legal to send to a PRIVATE… please note the word PRIVATE contact, and behold Brutus! Censored… Sever can not process, try again later.
So what I upload publicly, well that is a mistake isn't it, testing the system. Because we are not allowed to think for ourselves anymore. It's illegal to think for yourself, says a judge that has societies best interest in mind, (yes please laugh at that part). I get 28 legal claims against my post. 28 technological legal firms claim I uploaded something that violates copyright law. That was just a fucking image, lets try 5 seconds of a popular music. 39 … Yep, 39 legal firms claim ownership of 200 year old music that is no longer copy righted in any fucking country, but by the magic of technological feudalism, somehow is copyrighted again and no longer Public Domain.
So TLDR; They are scanning and censoring private chats for ANYTHING that is copyrighted and blocking it.
So if you happen to record a voice message and a commercial pops on in the background, COPYRIGHT VIOLATION, subject to 5 – 25 years in jail.
Say you accidentally take a picture of your friend in front of your favorite restaurant and one of those legal firms that is a conglomeration of 100's of other legal firms has them on a client list for brand protection. Well VIOLATION!!! 5 – 25 years in jail if prosecuted.
Does anyone else see the stupidity in this?
First, why are they scanning my private messages and turning everything over to these firms. These are not public messages, these are direct 1 – to – 1 communications. With an expectation of privacy. I expect that only the 1 person I am sending it to receives this. That is NOT the case. I send a message to my girlfriend to listen to a new song and … BAM!!! censorship , so it's not 1-to-1 , it's 1-to-server farm controlled by 100's of legal firms located in many different countries-then to the recipient …
Guys, Gals… We are almost at peak Enshitification now. It seems to only get worse.
Our judges are too old and stupid to understand anything. Our Supreme courts only rule based on how much money you donate to their retirement, and you pay for it. Everyone pays for it. We all pay to be enshittifited, because our lawyers and judges are corrupt and/or as stupid as a lump of shit on the ground. They got that rubber-stamp blues going on.
So I am hunting for Peer 2 Peer chat, not for the reasons they portray, but because I don't want to be in their "squeeze the poor and outlaw archivists" loop anymore.
Everyone agrees with me. So how can this be a problem? Answer me that…
And yeah, it's sad… It saddens me that assholes got money and started making rules. We where just on the brink of making everything better and somehow those fuckers got back in control again, and the judges took a nap while they robbed everyone of their privacy for the sake of greed and insanity.
