Where domain hunters compare notes

Hope anyone can tell me what’s wrong with my PC installations :’)

I have a relatively stable download speed via Ethernet of around 7,3 MB/s when downloading from Steam (see picture 1). I have to assume Steam is somehow bottlenecking me here because DSL Speed tests show that I otherwise have around 58 MB/s, but that's besides the point.

My issue is as follows: Precisely 5 minutes after I go afk, the write speed suddenly drops to near 0 and takes the download speed right with it shortly after (see picture 2). It instantly goes back up the moment I touch the keyboard or move the mouse, but I have so far not found any workaround for this.

Things I tried:
– Changing the DNS Server
– Changing Steam's download region
– Tinkering with some Energy settings (though perhaps not the right ones?)

Any idea what I could do to get this fixed and just install my games without having to wake up the system every 5 minutes would be greatly appreciated!

Hardware:
– Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB
– 32 GB DDR4 RAM
– AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
– ZOTAC NVIDIA RTX 3070Ti
– Windows 10 Pro (With extended Security updates due to EU regulations)
