I’m starting to become desperate at this point

Recently me and some friends started our own server. The one who's hosting it (which I'll call Joe for simplicity) said that both bedrock and java players can join. "Great!" I said before trying to join from pocket edition and getting the error above. The weird thing is however that if I try to join from bedrock edition on PC it does let me join and of I then try to join from pocket edition AFTER joining from bedrock on pc it lets me join on pocket edition for whatever reason. Joe said that when I try to join and it doesn't let me he doesn't even see me attempting to connect and has no idea as to why I can't join. I tried restarting the app, turning off both my VPN and custom DNS, deleting and reinstalling the app, deleting the cache, updating the app and even different WiFi networks and mobile data too and nothing worked. Is there a solution to this or am I permanently gonna encounter it?
