Hello, I’m new to Restic and am starting a deployment in a Windows environment. My plan is to centralize backup execution using Rundeck; Rundeck will connect to the Windows host—passing along sensitive data and the variables specifying which folders to back up (e.g., D:\data). I’d like to know if there is anything I should be concerned about; here are the points I’ve noted so far while using S3 on Huawei:

$restic_opts = @( "-o", "s3.bucket-lookup=dns", "-o", "s3.connections=$s3_connections" ) Parameter tuning $s3_connections = 15 $compression_level = "auto" $pack_size_mib = 64 $read_concurrency = 6 Policy $retention_daily = 7 $retention_weekly = 2 $retention_monthly = 2 $retention_last = 3 Excludes $exclude_paths = @( # --- Windows system directories / junk (valid on any volume) --- 'System Volume Information', '$Recycle.Bin', '$RECYCLE.BIN', 'Thumbs.db', 'desktop.ini', # --- System files that should never be backed up --- # They are huge, change constantly, and have no restore value. 'pagefile.sys', 'hiberfil.sys', 'swapfile.sys', # --- System directories on C: --- # Note: currently $backup_path only contains paths on D:\, so these # excludes have no practical effect. They are declared intentionally as a # safety net, in case C:\ is ever added as a source. 'C:\Windows', 'C:\ProgramData\ResticBackup', 'C:\pagefile.sys', 'C:\hiberfil.sys', 'C:\swapfile.sys', # --- Application temporary files --- '*.tmp', '*.log.gz' )

Do you have any suggestions regarding usage, or can you share your experiences?
Thanks.
