Turkish and Bulgarian servers are broken (for 9+ months)

I’ve already submitted multiple support tickets and emails about this issue over the last 9+ months. The Turkish servers, in particular, have been effectively broken for almost ten months now, and nothing is being done.

When I reached out to support, I got the standard "We will look into it" reply, followed by complete silence. I even took the time to map out a detailed breakdown showing exactly which servers were working and which weren't, but still zero progress or follow-up.

To be clear: you can connect to these servers, but Google-dependent services are completely broken on them:

  • YouTube: Doesn't recognize Premium badges and runs slow.
  • Gemini: Throws "This is not supported in your country," even though Gemini is officially supported in both Turkey and Bulgaria, and works fine on other VPNs.
  • Control D: You can't even log in to your account because their backend relies on Google services.

I’ve used Windscribe on and off for about four years total. Every time I give it another shot, there’s always a fresh set of issues. A few years back, these servers were unstable. Now they are "working" but they're clearly not functioning properly under the hood.

Control D has been another letdown. I tried it, trusting the Windscribe team, but it's been rough from day one, having one of the smallest server footprints in the DNS market is pretty disappointing for a paid service.

It feels like the team is focusing almost exclusively on North America these days and neglecting the rest of the world (I’m sure users in Russia and other regions can relate). It’s sad because I’ve genuinely loved the brand over the years, but in its current state, it’s just not reliable anymore.
