Nest Wifi stuck on “Waiting for the final bits of setup” / timeout — DNS fix worked

My Nest Wifi Point kept getting stuck on “Waiting for the final bits of setup to complete” and eventually timed out.

What fixed it for me:

Google Home → Wi-Fi → Network settings → Advanced networking → DNS → change “Automatic” to “ISP DNS”

After changing it, I tried adding the Point again and the setup completed successfully.

Posting this in case it saves someone else from doing factory resets over and over.
