So I’ve been dealing with a particular connection issue with dayz since April of this year, if not a couple of months earlier than that. I’m desperate for help as no other threads have resolutions that have worked.
My game tries to load into official servers and once it counts down, the game freezes on the background of my character in front of the Rify gas zone. I couldn’t join at all. I followed various threads, some from 4 or even 5 years ago with the same issue, and tried every solution they tried. I’ve uninstalled and installed, changed firewall settings, dns settings, port forwarding, believe me if it’s an option I’ve tried it. It used to be the only way I could play was on my phones hotspot.
There was no change in my internet at all prior to this issue. Ive used the same plan for about 2 years and it’s worked fine until this year.
Forward to August and I just about have had it troubleshooting and was about to switch Internet providers entirely to try and solve the issue. I load up Dayz hoping it might work and it miraculously did! For about a few hours. Then a hard Desync- can’t open doors, others players and zombies frozen in place, inventory equipping no longer available. I leave, try again, most of the time get the same blurred background, sometimes connect and immediately desync, but occasionally I’ll join and be able to play for SEVERAL HOURS until I desync again.
It’s gotten to the point that I’m having a hard time determining what actually is causing this issue? I run on an Xbox X/S and never had an issue in the past. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing an issue like this, especially one this hard to replicate in the same manner, with occasionally hours of connected gameplay inbetween freezes.
