Local DNS Solution?

I am looking to see what experience anyone has with Local DNS.

I want to use something like PiHole or NPMPlus to manage the direction of URL's to the Nomad box. My box will be setup so that the WIFI acts as a hotspot, and the ethernet port will be used for network connections.

I want it to be able to redirect the URL's to the localhost on the Nomad Box from both the ethernet and the WIFI access. But I dont want to have to mess with the networks router or firewall for that. I dont need remote access.

I have pondered using Cloudflare for my tunnel, but that means again, I would need to manage the local router or firewall to provide direction to the Nomad Box.
