ok so this is kind of wild
this dropped today. people were sharing Muse chats thinking the link was basically private, like unlisted, nobody finds it unless you send it to them.
turns out the chat title was right in the subdomain of the link, and that stuff gets logged in passive DNS. so researchers did one search and found like 6,800 of them, listed by title, like a table of contents.
and the titles alone are rough. loan applications, a bank fraud alert, a CEO revenue review, vacation calendars, stuff like that. not just "help me write an email" chats.
Meta paused sharing while they look into it.
what gets me is the timing. yesterday there was news about Confidential VM, the private mode where even Meta is not supposed to be able to see your stuff. today sharing is paused because shared chats were findable in DNS.
so I'm curious where everyone here actually lands on this.
have you ever hit share on a Muse chat? and honestly, what's the most sensitive thing you've put in Muse so far?
are you team "I paste everything, it's my agent, it needs context to be useful" or team "I treat every chat like it could leak one day"?
I feel like most of us are in the middle and we don't really know where our line is until a story like this drops.
