Hello and welcome back to the series of
“What if ___________ was a Fate Servant?”
Last time we did Tony Montana from the movie Scarface, and so far, you all did a good job contributing, and I thank you all for your answers on that one, good job!
For those who are new to this series, I grab fictional characters from different media, whether it be Movies, TV Shows, Comics, Anime, Manga, Video Games, or anything of that matter, as well as Historical Figures or other Myths that have not been considered yet, and then You the Audience, as well as me, what we do is translate these characters to turn them into Fate Servants with a set of questions as the criterion.
I provide my own analysis well, and am open to critiques of it too, where you can use my explanation as a template to formulate your answers, or you can use what I made and modify it too.
Today’s episode, we have John Rambo for the Rambo movies, there are 5 movies, with an upcoming sixth installment as well, so you and I have plenty of source material to use.
Anyways, now that you know what you will be working with, here are your set of questions:
-
What would his servant class be?
-
What would his noble phantasm be?
-
What are his strengths?
-
What are his weaknesses?
-
What is his alignment?
-
What star servant would he be?
-
What are his stats?
Alright, you now have your questions! And now! Start drafting up your answers! Because I am excited to see what y’all can come up with!
In the meantime:
OP’s ANALYSIS:
First Question! What would his class be?
This can go multiple ways, and in my opinion, there are 4 different Servant classes that John Rambo qualifies for. My picks are Archer (His Primary Class), Assassin, Berserker, and Avenger.
Rambo’s signature weapon is either an M60 Machine Gun, as well as his collapsible compound bow, making him a literal fit for the Archer class. In the Fate universe, Archers are granted exceptional independent action and tracking capabilities. His mastery of archery allows for silent, deadly precision and tactical zone control. This one is a given since he does master firearms a lot too, and we see him being extremely skilled with improvised weapons too.
Assassin is the second strongest candidate if we are going with the original trilogy. It fits his jungle stealth, silent traps, and psychological warfare tactics that he uses throughout the films. It also translates well because he can map out any place for one, and even when he went up against the corrupt police officers in the first movie, he was exceptionally well suited for it. His experience as a combat veteran also helps too.
Berserker’s case is triggered by his deep-seated PTSD and battlefield rage, where he shrugs off fatal wounds to tear through enemies. Once again, as evidenced through the first 2 movies.
Avenger, now hear me out on this one, he does show it in the second film, but where the argument is made the strongest. It reflects his gritty arc in Last Blood, where he was fueled by a lifetime of betrayal and a relentless vendetta against those who hurt the innocent. John Rambo's now peaceful life is all of a sudden interrupted when Gabriela, his friend's granddaughter, disappears in Mexico. He decides to free her from the clutches of the Drug Cartel, where he starts a revenge spree.
Okay that’s it for Class!
Question 2: His Noble Phantasm!
Name: First Blood: The Unbroken Circle
Rank: B
Classification: Anti-Unit / Bound Field (Reality Marble)
Blending the Arizona ranch from Last Blood with his guerrilla warfare roots, the activation triggers a localized Reality Marble resembling a dense, shadowy synthesis of a Southeast Asian jungle and the intricate, booby-trapped tunnel network beneath his home. Within this domain, Rambo transitions from a man into a localized force of nature. Opponents are hit with severe psychological dread, and every trap or projectile he fires, whether it be an explosive-tipped arrow from his compound bow or gunfire from his signature weapons, it carries conceptual weight that can pierce standard magical reinforcement.
Third Question: What are his strengths?
Well for starters, he has an unrivaled proficiency with both silent archery using explosive and standard arrows, and modern firearms such as assault rifles, heavy machine guns, and sidearms. He treats any terrain as an armory. Guerrilla Warfare and Traps are another big strength he has, it is unmatched in turning the environment against superior forces, utilizing psychological warfare, camouflage, and improvised explosive devices. Legendary Survival and Pain Tolerance is another major strength that he has. He has defied impossible odds time and time again, where he ends up surviving torture, massive gunfights, and deep wilderness injuries without blinking. Finally, his most broken aspect, EX-Rank Luck\*\* \*\*with Anomalous Fate. Now despite being an ordinary human, fate consistently bends to let him survive scenarios where entire military units and cartels perish, and he literally can give the odds a huge middle finger.
Fourth Question: What are his weaknesses?
Let’s get the obvious out of the way. Literally zero magical energy, which kicks his Mana all the way down to E. He possesses no innate magical circuits. He relies entirely on his Master for mana upkeep, meaning a weak Master will severely limit his operational duration. Psychological Triggers are another major weakness that he possesses because his deep trauma, PTSD, and protective instincts can be exploited by clever opponents to draw him into unfavorable emotional traps. Finally, he has vulnerability to high-end magecraft. While he can definitely outsmart conventional soldiers and Servants through sheer tactics, getting caught completely flat-footed by conceptual sorcery or large-scale anti-army noble phantasms without prep time leaves him completely vulnerable.
Now for the Fifth Question! What is his alignment?
I would say he is right in the middle between True Neutral and Chaotic Neutral. The reason why is because Rambo operates completely outside modern laws, military bureaucracy, and societal constructs. He serves no government or ideology, and his only code is survival, protecting the innocent, and finishing the mission.
Sixth question: What star servant would he be at?
4 Star, now yes he lacks the divine and mythological background of historical heroes. HOWEVER, his modern legendary status, absurd combat feats, and immense utility in a Grail War place him comfortably as a high-tier SR Servant, functioning similarly to an elite guerrilla specialist in FGO.
Seventh and Final Question: His Stats!
Strength: B, he has peak human conditioning amplified by Servant baseline, where he is strong enough to shatter bones and tear through obstacles.
Endurance: A+, Legendary resilience, where he is capable of fighting through grievous, debilitating injuries
Agility: A, he has lightning-fast reflexes, expert evasion, and ghost-like stealth.
Mana: E, literally zero magical aptitude, we already went over why.
Luck: EX, it is an anomaly that constantly allows him to survive impossible odds as evidenced in the films.
Noble Phantasm: B, impressive, but not quite exactly A, that doesn’t mean that you should underestimate him though. He will still put up a fight.
THE END
Glad you all could make it to the very end of the analysis, and it’s a good one because there are a lot of potential movies I could do. It has been a long time since I was doing this series, and only really recently I got back into the game of it.
I’m excited to see your critiques of this post, as well as what you guys will come up with!
Good luck and I am excited to read them.
