Starlink routing loop in Portugal: 67ms on DayZ Official Launcher, but 400ms inside the game menu (while BR servers get 90ms). Wrong PoP?

Hi everyone,

I'm based in Portugal and I'm facing a mind-boggling routing issue with my Starlink connection that is making online gaming completely impossible.

I am experiencing a massive discrepancy between the DayZ Official Launcher and the actual in-game server browser:

  1. On the DayZ Official Launcher, European official servers look perfect, showing a low ping of around 67ms.
  2. However, the moment I launch the game and look at the exact same European server inside the in-game menu, the ping shoots up to 400ms+, and I get kicked instantly for high latency.
  3. Out of curiosity, I checked the South American / Brazilian servers inside the game menu, and they show a stable 90ms.

This makes no physical sense since I am in Europe, but it clearly points to a "PoP Misrouting" or a major GeoIP alignment glitch. It seems the launcher does a basic ICMP ping that targets a local node, but actual game traffic gets dumped by the Starlink satellite into a South American Point of Presence (PoP), forcing my data to make a transatlantic round-trip just to talk to a server a few hundred miles away from me.

Things I've already tried:

– Stowed the dish and did a long power cycle (unplugged for 20+ minutes) to force a new IP lease.

– Flushed my DNS and tried using Cloudflare/Google DNS.

– Checked if a VPN is running (it isn't).

Has anyone in Europe (especially around Iberia/Portugal) experienced this recently? Is there any trick to force the system to assign me to a local European PoP (like Madrid or Paris) without waiting ages for a support ticket response?

Thanks in advance for any insights!
