So, i was searching for short domain for my homelab and bought `.in` from godaddy. when i registered the domain, they asked for KYC. which was handled by Digio. Their track record is not that good by the way. I personally worked with them (as part of my firm's compliance team).
I use cloudflare for publishing dns for all my domains. So naturally added his. It took 5 days for ns records to propagate and domain was added to cf. but neither published dns records are working on cf nor tls cert generation with lego worked. wasted almost a day thinking config/creds issues from my side.
Contacted CF regarding this, their immediate response was ns records revered back to godaddy nameservers. Promised an investigation and received response on the same day that my domain is on hold at nixi (they handle the .in tld). Neither nixi nor godaddy communicated that.
After contacting godaddy, i was told domain was indeed on hold and they intentionally revered ns records due to the hold from registar. To remove the hold, i had to do re-kyc and wait another week for process to complete.
just wanted to share this. beware people.
