I've tried this on two iPhone SE 3rd Gens and both fail in the same way.
– Open app
– Tap "I'm new to TD Easy Trade"
– Tap the textbox under "Username or access card"
– The keyboard appears, but it cannot be interacted with
– The app completely freezes and must be closed from the app switcher
This also happens if I try the "Continue as new customer" route, though a bit later. It seems that opening the keyboard on any text field in the in-app embedded browser triggers the freeze up.
This should be easy to reproduce since I've reproduced on two different iPhone SE 3rd Gens
Things I've tried:
– Delete and re-install the app.
– Reboot my iPhone.
– Switch DNS back to the default. (I use AdGuard but I'm savvy enough to know this breaks stuff sometimes and try to turn it off.)
– Turn off all my Safari extensions. This shouldn't actually make a difference but worth a try.
– Turn my phone into landscape mode. Doesn't change anything.
– Try on an entirely separate phone.
Things I've tried that probably aren't relevant to fixing this:
– Use "Switch Control" in Accessibility settings to try and paste directly into text fields and avoid using the on-screen keyboard on text fields in the in-app browser at all. Pasting didn't work.
Things I haven't tried yet:
– Installing the Android emulator on my PC and trying to create a new account there. I'd really rather not, plus you probably include some SDK that blocks this.
– mitmproxy'ing the login page and injecting JavaScript to manually fill in the form fields. Do you cert pin the in-app browser? 🤔 Still, my time is more valuable than this.
Things I won't try:
– Calling in to create an account. The promotion specifies created in the app. Also I don't even know if your call centre can create accounts.
FWIW the log in page seems to work fine; I can type and everything! That would be more helpful if I had an account.
Also, consider hiring a QA person, they're worth their weight in gold.
