My kids are watching a G-rated movie on Plex. Next thing I know, they're asking me what it means if kids get a sex change and what child sexual abuse is, because they saw 1) a Republican attack ad against Gina Hinojosa, and then 2) a Democrat attack ad against Ken Paxton for releasing that pedophile from jail.
Does Plex seriously think these ads belong in G-rated kids' movies???
I literally had a conversation with my 10-year old child today and ended up getting into what transgenderism is because this Republican ad put it in front of her for the first time. And as it turns out, I think she was actually mature enough to understand and start forming some opinions. But my 7-year old sure as hell is not and there is NO reason "sex change surgey" and "child sexual abuse" should be in his vocabulary.
EDIT: Yes, I'm aware I can probably block ads via DNS and yes I'll start restricting them to staying on-server. Just pointing out the ridiculousness of the situation, especially if legislation is forcing them to have to show this stuff (although I'd question whether that applies to non-broadcast media, but not going down that rabbit hole).
