Can you believe it? This is our 10th and FINAL test build. It is the last Release Candidate build (For real this time). The next time you see lilocam, it will be live on the Apple App Store. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO REPORTED BUGS, TESTED, AND RECOMMENDED FEATURES. Without you, lilocam would still be a confused little app somewhere in mind mind….
lilocam 1.0 (98) — Release Candidate
WHAT'S NEW
– Live recipe strip: every recipe tile now shows your live camera view through that recipe, in both photo and video mode.
– Black Mist lens filter, alongside Halation, Bloom, Star and Streak.
– Star and Streak now come only from real point lights (lamps, bulbs, bright glints) — hopefully, and the viewfinder shows exactly what the photo will get.
– One lens filter at a time (for heat/thermal control). The filter in use is named on a tab above the drawer.
– Lens filters are drawn live on every viewfinder frame.
– Additonal thermal control — Sleep when lying flat: choose 30 seconds, 1, 3 or 5 minutes, or Never (Settings > Capture).
– Drag across the album to select several photos at once, as in Photos.
– Damaged capture warning: if the camera hands lilocam a photo with a block of corrupted pixels, you are told right away so you can take it again.
– 4K 60 now records on iPhone 12.
– Slow motion (120 and 240 fps) now records on phones without ProRes, such as iPhone 12.
– Video settings list only the resolutions and frame rates your phone can actually record.
– Empty Trash in Settings now empties the movie trash too.
– The heat bar reads TEMP and sits along the bottom of the histogram.
– Tap the selected recipe again to close the recipe strip. A chosen recipe slides to the middle of the strip.
– Favorites and My Recipes only appear once they hold a recipe.
– Applying a recipe from the Photos album develops in that photo's own light, and its recipe cards preview that photo under each recipe.
– Photos sent to Apple Photos keep lilocam's file name, and so do shares.
– Lens filters are not available for video in this release; they remain for photos.
ONE-TIME OPTIONAL CHECKS (this release candidate only)
– Lens color fix: if some of your Nippon Collection photos came out in the wrong colors on another lens, you are offered a one-time fix. It only appears if your photos need it. Leave them, and nothing changes.
– Damaged photo finder: if an earlier photo arrived from the camera damaged, it is shown once so you can keep or delete it. It only appears if one is found.
BUG FIXES
– The same recipe now looks the same on every lens (13, 24, 48, 77, 100 mm). The ultra-wide is no longer magenta in video and the viewfinder.
– Fixed photos that occasionally developed darker than they should.
– Fixed re-develops and exports coming out dark on iOS 26.
– Fixed slow motion failing to record on iPhone 12.
– Fixed judder in 240 fps slow motion.
– Fixed viewfinder stutter while filming at 240 fps.
– Photos always come first: a movie still rendering never delays a photo being saved.
– Movies are ready the moment recording stops in more cases, and rendering pauses when the phone is warm instead of overheating it.
– Fixed menus (such as Delete) needing several taps while a movie was rendering.
– Fixed taps near the drawer handle moving focus instead of opening the drawer.
– Fixed the recipe strip staying blank on some photos.
– Storage housekeeping reviewed end to end: nothing still in use is freed or deleted.
– A 48 MP photo now needs about a third of the memory it did.
– Lens filters cost about half as much on iPhone 12.
– Lens filters and video are paced to keep the phone out of serious heat.
