Brave Rewards ads not being counted on Windows – “Failed to fetch payment token”

Hi,

I have been using Brave Rewards on my Windows PC for about a week, but the Rewards page still shows 0 ads viewed this month.

Brave Ads are definitely being shown. I see both notification ads and sponsored New Tab Page ads, and I have also clicked some of them. Rewards works normally on my smartphone, so the issue seems to be limited to my Windows PC.

My setup:

  • Brave 1.96.61 (Official Build, 64-bit)
  • Chromium 154.0.8037.98
  • Windows
  • Country: Germany
  • Rewards status: Connected
  • Self-custody Solana wallet connected
  • Brave says it is fully up to date
  • No VPN, NextDNS, AdGuard, Pi-hole or similar network filtering

In brave://rewards-internals I repeatedly see errors such as:

Failed to fetch payment token

Failed to process kViewedImpression confirmation for kNewTabPageAd

Failed to process kViewedImpression confirmation for kNotificationAd

Failed to get signed tokens

Failed to refill confirmation tokens

This has been happening consistently since September 29. The logs clearly show that ad impressions and clicks are being detected, but their confirmations fail afterwards.

For example, even today I received New Tab Page ads, but every impression resulted in:

Failed to fetch payment token

followed by:

Failed to process kViewedImpression confirmation

Because of this, the Rewards dashboard still shows 0 ads and 0 BAT.

Has anyone else experienced this with Brave Rewards and a Solana self-custody wallet?

Is there a known fix, or is this currently a server-side / Rewards backend issue?

I would prefer not to reset Rewards or reinstall Brave unless absolutely necessary.
