Where domain hunters compare notes

Google Workspace for Nonprofits activated/admin account disabled

I serve on the board of a local nonprofit museum. We've had ongoing problems with our previous website designer/host, so I built a new website in Square-space (I've never done any of this before, so the learning curve has been STEEP). Our email was also hosted through the website/developer, so the board decided to move our email to Google Workspace and begin using the Google Suite so multiple people can access and work on projects and fundraising. As part of the transition, I changed the domain’s DNS/mail configuration so we could complete Google’s verification process, so now we have no organizational email.

I handle the website/workspace project work on a volunteer basis, and I'm squeezing it in around a full-time job, family, and other commitments. There was a significant delay before I got back to the Workspace setup.

Here’s where I’m stuck:

At the end of August, I completed the Google Workspace for Nonprofits qualification/activation process. Google had me create an organizational email address and login for myself as part of that process.

On September 10, Google sent an email saying Congratulations, Goigle Workspace is activated for (our domain) and linking to the admin console.

I read the email, but didn't access the Workspace Admin Console, create any additional Workspace users, or do anything further with Workspace until today.

When I tried to access the Admin Console today, I couldn’t get in. Google only offers my personal Gmail account, which is the administrator for the Google for Nonprofits organization, but that account cannot access the Workspace Admin Console.

I then went through Google’s account recovery process, which says the domain account/email address I created at the end of August was deactivated for misuse on Sept 4.

I tried the Google Admin Toolbox recovery process using the organizational email address I created, and it says that the address does not have a Google workspace account, I assume because the account was deactivated.

So now I'm trapped in this loop where Google for Nonprofits says Workspace is activated for our domain, but the Workspace login I created during the qualification process is apparently disabled, and Google’s recovery tools say the address doesn’t have a Workspace account.

I have already submitted an appeal regarding the disabled account and submitted Google’s request for assistance from a Google Workspace Product Specialist, but this is the weekend I blocked out so that I could get some meaningful work done on this project, and I'm hoping there's some kind of work around that doesn't require me waiting several business days for Google to get back to me.

Is there anything else I can do to recover the workspace administrator account/domain? Has anyone encountered a similar situation before? Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated!
