Your communicator should help you communicate with others – here’s how Mink’s business card works for everyone else

Mink Launcher has been designed to help you type something to go somewhere but not everybody has time to download the right business card app to find you. Sometimes carriers are throttling linkedin or instagram in favor of some netflix deal. Mink's virtual Centralized Account Retrieval Device (name is a work in progress…like Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division..) wants to make sure you never miss a chance to connect with someone.

Tapping the profile icon (which I think looks like a woman with a very nice afro but was informed is just a genderless expression of a human by my ADA coworker) will flip over ThePill revealing your business card. In mink launcher settings > virtual contact card > you will be able to create "links". When selected, they will be added to your card. Unselect or delete them, and they won't be on your card. This means you can have many links saved but only pick the ones needed for that specific conference or night in playing SmashBros with the girls or at Dreamcon w the boys.

Links can be a phone number, preformatted social tool, or just custom url altogether. This means you don't need to worry about formatting a number correctly (although do use the correct country code digits when necessary) or fully typing out the domain for github. You can just drop the handle (or handle + extra slug content like a repo name – see the video). Mink will take care of it to help save you time. Why? Because we're using vCard3.0 technology. It's not fancy, just boring stuff. Same thing when you "share a contact card" to your parents for the maytag man. But the real reason for doing this is because it works 100 offline. There's no wifi needed or bluetooth or even special alignment for nfc chips to find each other. Just a simple scanning of a QR code and launching an "add to contacts" intent on your new friend's default camera app. And that's what the video is showing (how's that for ADA compliance Roberto!!)
