Section 1:

The Chaositian

The first Eon of Alterris’ history, it begins with the formation of Alterris 3.85 Billion Years ago and ends with the destruction of one of the last Proto-Continents and the rise of DNA-based Organisms to dominance 3.654 Billion Years ago. It is also the geological period where the collision between Alterris and Tosse occurred 3.848 Billion Years ago which led to the formation of Salune (later called Lunaris by Humans) and Lumo, and also marks the entire presence of the Early Heavy Bombardment (with the EHB ending soon after the Chaositian). Life itself first emerged from the primordial soup (which that primordial soup formed from an earlier Proto-Primordial Soup 3.8 Million Years prior which itself formed around 6.1 Million Years after the last parts of the former Magma Ocean solidified) as part of a Protein dominated World around 3.746 Billion Years ago during which a layer of liquid CO2 began forming on top of the Ocean which back then was highly acidic and full of heavy metals, RNA and several XNA molecules such as PNA, BNA, TNA, HNA, GNA, MNA (or PMO), and CeNA (along with other Life such as Methane and Ammonia based) eventually appeared and became dominate and ended the Protein-World 3.738 Billion Years ago, other molecule-based organisms such as FANA and LNA would also appear but wouldn’t last long, during this time Plate Tectonics would begin with all 5 Proto-Continents soon trapped and surrounded by subduction zones. RNA-based organisms would rise to dominance around 3.717 Billion Years ago and result in most molecule-based organisms (except for PNA, TNA, and GNA) going extinct, DNA and Mirrored Life would also appear during RNA’s dominance. Most of the Proto-Continents would also begin sinking into the mantle during this time due to their density being similar to the surrounding Oceanic Crust, this didn’t stop one of these Proto-Continents from creating that would later become 2 distinct Cratons that will end up surviving up to the present (that same Proto-Continent would also end up being the only Proto-Continent that would make it through the Chaositian and into the first part of the Hellarian Eon before finally sinking into the Mantle and leaving the 2 eventual Cratons behind), during this time the Proto-Continents that sink into the Mantle would reach the Core-Mantle boundary and enrich it with a lot of heavy metals and radioactive elements which heat it up and result in the Magnetosphere activating and multiple Mantle Superplumes forming which soon after reach the Crust and create Magmatic Provinces (which all of them but one have not survived to the present) at this would continue until some time after the destruction of the last Proto-Continent, this also resulted in a new layer in between the Core and Mantle called the “Yunili Boundary”. DNA would rise to dominance around 3.654 Billion Years ago and result in TNA, GNA, and almost all RNA-based organisms to go extinct (the surviving pure-RNA Mirror Life, and PNA organisms would end up surviving until the Early-Protanizoic), this along with the end of the Early Heavy Bombardment and only 1 Proto-Continent left standing would result in the beginning of the Hellarian.

Section 2:

The Hellarian

The second Eon of Alterris’ history, it marks the rise of DNA-based organisms 3.654 Billion Years ago to continues until the evolution of Photosynthetic Life and the formation of the Felerathron Supercontinent 3.147 Billion Years ago. During the Early Hellarian the DNA-based organism (Adaeva) would begin branching out into 3 main groups: the Proviranans, the Privimatons, and the Paleons. During this time the sole DNA-based organism that would form Alterris’ current Tree-of-Life named Adaeva would have had multiple sister-lineages which later went extinct during the Hellarian and Early-Protanizoic. The very last Proto-Continent disappears 3.556 Billion Years ago and results in a large Mantle Plume and a large magmatic province soon after it hitting the Core-Mantle boundary.

Section 3:

The Protanizoic

The third Eon of Alterris’ history, it marks the evolution of the first Photosynthetic Organisms and ends with the Mitria Symbiosis (the event that led to the evolution of Alterris’ Eukaryote equivalents and resulted in the Paleons diverging into 2 separate Domains) 1.949 Billion Years ago. The Mikrizoic

The fourth Eon of Alterris’ history, it starts with the Mitria Symbiosis event 1.949 Billion Years ago and ends with the beginning of the Alterrian Explosion 0.5 Million Years ago. Paymeazois:

Section 5:

The Polyplokizoic (Modern)

The fifth and current Eon of Alterris’ history. At the time of Humans, the planet is currently in the first epoch of the Nervian Period (and by extension: the Parmazoic Era) and is experiencing the Alterrian Explosion. The Alterrian Explosion began 0.5 Million Years ago, and will continue throughout the rest of the Nervian Period (with it trailing off in the Alverian period which has yet not started). The Drodiu and Atrinia do not appear canonically until around 604 Million Years from now (Earth Time).

Section 5.5:

The Polyplokizoic (Future)

This is the Future of what Alterris will likely experience in the Orionia canon:

Parmazoic: lasting 158.5 Million Years and having its name being an altered form of the word “Pharma” in “Pharmacy”, it is split into 5 periods: Nervian, Alverian, Erisertian, Ulverian, and Terressovian. It ends with the completion of the Ocean-Land transition for most of the dominant clades at the time.

Terrozoic: lasting 119.5 Million Years and being named after the word “Terra”, it is split into 3 periods: Vitanin, Karnin, and Tantin. It ends with the impact with a relativistic kill weapon (followed by a GRB-like event caused by the weapon), the event causing the worst mass extinction in Alterris’ future. It experiences the formation of the Xantho-Terra Supercontinent during the Vitanin.

Drevazoic: lasting 237 Million Years and not being named after anything, it is split into 4 periods: Drevium, Asrium, Catarium, and Virium. It ends with the eruption of the Xenos Traps, which trigger a Mass Extinction similar to the one at the end of Earth’s Mesozoic. It experiences the breakup of the Xantho-Terra Supercontinent between the Asrium and Catarium Eras.

Neozoic: lasting 162 Million Years and not being named after anything, it is split into 5 periods: Newonia, Waratania, Hanaria (which contain Drodiu Intelligias and Atrinia Sapiens at the very end of it), Mesia, and Mivaria. It, like the Drevazoic ends with the eruption of Basaltic Traps. It experiences the complete formation of the Halbraxtina Supercontinent by near the end of the Mivaria. Earth starts to experience the collapse of the Carbon Cycle near the end of Alterris’ Neozoic Era.

Atrinozoic: lasting 211.5 Million Years and being named after the Atrinia, it is split into 3 periods: Caesarric, Titanic, and Rythmic. Like the Neozoic and Drevazoic, it ends with the eruption of Basaltic Traps.

Halozoic: TBA, lasts 282 Million Years. It ends with TBA. it experiences the breakup of the Halbraxtina Supercontinent.
