the site is not what people are searching for. i run the site for an indian takeaway and the top query in search console every single month is indian tandoori kingdom google reviews, followed by the name with menu after it, then the name and the word number. hardly anybody types the domain.
which makes the homepage not really a homepage, it is a landing page for people who already know the shop and want one of three things: 1. the menu in html with prices matching the ones on the wall, 2. the phone number as a tel link so a thumb can hit it, 3. the hours, and whether they are open right now, which is the one everybody gets wrong because the site says 5pm and the profile says half four.
everything else on that site exists for the owner, and i include the about page in that. it gets four views a month and two of them are him checking it is still there. moving the menu above the fold pushed the calls up in a way i could actually see in the click stats the following month. does anybody else find brand searches are basically the whole picture for a local place, or is that a food thing?
